In a letter sent to Couples for Christ by Metrobank Foundation, its President Mr. Aniceto Sobrepeña, congratulated the CFC Community for producing one of the awardees of such a prestigious recognition. Dr. Confesor, known in CFC Iligan as Bro Mark, with his wife Rhea, currently serves as Sector Head of CFC Lanao del Norte – North Sector. As CFC leaders, Mark and Rhea were also instrumental in organizing Catholic groups and programs inside the MSU Iligan campus where they both teach. They have likewise facilitated the celebration of the Eucharist on campus every Wednesday for Catholic students and personnel.
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mark and Rhea were likewise assigned as coordinators of the St. Mother Teresa Ministry of the Sick, a CFC-LDN ANCOP program that cared for the poor and the sick. As of August 9, 2022, the SMTMS has helped 750 patients mostly confined at the City Hospital of Iligan City.
Dr. Confesor is also a product of a CFC family, as his parents Lano and Marina Confesor, are CFC leaders, with Bro Lano now serving as a member of the Provincial Area Governance Team of CFC-LDN. Bro Mark’s siblings are all are active members of the CFC community.
While earning his PhD at the National Central University in Taiwan, he became a member of the parish council of the local Church, volunteered in helping migrant workers there, and initiated a Bible study for local Catholics. And being a former Singles for Christ Provincial Coordinator in Lanao del Norte, Dr. Confesor also helped organize CLPs together with SFCs in Taiwan, not only within his area, but in another university as well.
Much of Dr. Confesor’s life had been dedicated to serving others. Whether he is wearing the hat of an esteemed educator, CFC leader, missionary for the poor, or devoted husband, the CFC Community is very much honored to call him brother. (A. Alvarez)
