14 years of Grace: CFC Mauritius is United in Faith, Growing in Love

Couples for Christ Mauritius celebrated its 14th anniversary on 2nd November 2025 at the Basilica of St Helene, Curepipe, Mauritius. The celebration of the community started with the Holy Mass together with the parishioners and was presided over by the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Yudesh Arnachellum. In the homily, he rallied CFCs to take care of each other, to do acts of service, and to ask themselves if we are taking care of their neighbour. He finished by quoting St Mother Theresa of Calcutta: “Life is sacred, life is beautiful—admire it.”

Continuing with the celebration, Gaetan and Marjolain Poché, Country Heads of CFC Mauritius, welcomed CFCs with an invitation to love, serve, and grow together—to be faithful servants who gave their all to help the community grow and to be living witnesses of God’s love.

Eric and Evelyn Ylagan, Indian Ocean Regional Coordinators, shared the message that this celebration is a celebration of CFC’s return to Galilee, to rejoice and take courage in proclaiming the Gospel in Mauritius and the neighbouring countries, and to remain in unity made in love and respect of all members.

The celebration was marked by CFC Singles for Christ’s teaching of song ‘Father’ translated in Creole, the local language. Ending with the Praisefest, SFC leader Fabien Fidele acknowledged how he grew up as a human with great joy—that even when facing adversities, CFC must always keep in mind that the Lord is always here, holding our hand. We must continue to share our gifts with one another and to keep our eyes on the prize—Jesus.
