SALP PODCAST S1EP11 | The Gift of Music in CFC

“Worship, music, and the songs that we sing had a big part in my life, in how I became a missionary” – Jay Laquian

Worship.

One of the life-changing gifts in the community.

Jay Laquian and Bimbo Yerro, two of CFC’s composers, shared how their love for music and writing songs started. Jay used to be a 3-chord guy who knew how to play guitar, but it was never something he thought he’d pursue. Bimbo saw music as a way for him to get accepted by his peers when he was younger.

Years later, these two men now lead CFC Music Ministry and Liveloud respectively. No one can deny how music has changed them, but even more how worship led them to where they are now. And these are the stories they share with us. From their journey as YFC members playing music for themselves to seeing music as a way to glorify God more, they also share how songwriting happens, and why it’s still important to prioritize your relationship with God through all these.
