Couples for Christ: On Mission with Peter, and the Challenge of ‘wanting to live an apostolic life’

CFC Chairman/ President Joe Yamamoto and wife Mila were among the 150 delegates to the recently concluded annual meeting with lay movement moderators in Rome, hosted by the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life.

Tito Joe, as he is fondly called in CFC, delivered a report on how Couples for Christ is responding to the Vatican’s call to live a truly missionary apostolic life. The meeting was held after the 25th anniversary of the first World Congress of Ecclesial Movements and New Communities.

According to the Dicastery website, the “purpose of the meeting and the reflection that wants to ensue is to face the challenges of this time of epochal changes with boldness and creativity, in order to rethink structures, style and methods of evangelization of aggregative realities, without lacking generosity and courage”.

In his report, Tito Joe narrated how Couples for Christ, as a recognized ecclesial community of Pontifical right, has been striving for the last 42 years to live a truly apostolic life by being family evangelizers. (Read full report here: https://bit.ly/JY-report-Vatican2023)

The annual meeting took place from June 22 to 23, 2023 at the Aula Magna of the Jesuit General Curia, just a few steps from St. Peter’s Square. (CFC Communications)
