After two years of online meetings and assemblies due to the pandemic, not to mention being ravaged by Typhoon Odette in late 2021, CFC Surigao del Norte was finally able to celebrate its 30th anniversary in a landmark face-to-face event on September 25, 2022.
Over 2,000 brothers and sisters, including the family ministries from across the province, gathered at the St. Paul University Surigao Gymnasium to commemorate this milestone event. The day was filled with joy, songs, and talents, as many participated in creative competitions such as the Praise Parade, CFC Family Got Talent, and the TikTok Dance Compilation Contest. Pre-anniversary activities were also conducted in the days leading to the celebration, such as a basketball and volleyball tournaments, and an acoustic concert sponsored by the CFC Youth for Christ and CFC Singles for Christ, bearing the theme “A Love Like This”.
In his anniversary message, CFC Executive Director Arnel Santos said, “In this anniversary, we must remember the journey the Lord has given us. The journey to victory is arduous and painful. Let us welcome His charge to all of us: to be instruments to heal the world.”
Hector Simplicio, the CFC Regional Head of Northeastern Mindanao, encouraged CFC SdN, “Let us extend our patience, understanding, prayers, and time with our family. From this day on, we are tasked to follow our responsibilities in the community, in evangelizing, and in starting the Christian life.”
