Come Build Our Church in Nangalisan!

During their mission trip in August, the CFC International Council visited the St. Joseph, the Husband of Mary Chapel in Nangalisan, Tuba, Benguet. Fr. Clyde Banasan and His Excellency Most Reverend Victor Bendico, D.D, Bishop of the Diocese of Baguio, warmly welcomed the members of the IC and their wives.

In June, Bishop Bendico attended the CFC Clergy – Lay Congress, and was inspired to work with Couples for Christ in building the St. Joseph the Husband of Mary Chapel as a mission station for the picturesque town which is home to 546 families.

“This is our way of responding to the call of the local church in the Philippines during the Year of Mission,” Bishop Bendico said. He added, “Any diocese could come up with activities and other means and ways in order to celebrate the Year of Mission. But here in the Diocese of Baguio, I thought of establishing mission stations in different places so that the celebration of the Year of Mission would also be meaningful.”

This initiative of building the St. Joseph the Husband of Mary Chapel will be done under the CFC Build My Church program.

The Build My Church Program is CFC’s way of responding to the call of God to build His Church, just as St. Francis of Assisi responded to Christ’s call to Him: “Francis, go and rebuild my church which, as you see, is falling down.”

Many priests and local communities have become beneficiaries of CFC Build My Church, mostly for help in repairing damaged churches and chapels. By helping them build their Church, the Community somehow makes God’s presence felt and His grace more alive. (CFC Communications)
