CFC CAVITE EMBRACING MORE ITS WORK WITH THE POOR!

CFC Cavite Mission with the Poor Weekend Retreat 2026

by Cocoy Pelayo

In its continuing response to Couples For Christ’s mission of Building the Church of the Poor, leaders and members of the CFC from the Diocese of Imus (Cavite Province) gathered together to attend and reflect during the Mission with the Poor Weekend Retreat (MPWR) held on May 16 – 17, 2026 at the National College of Science and Technology Multipurpose Hall, Dasmariñas City, Cavite, and was organized by the CFC Mission with the Poor Team of the province.

Bro. Chito Cubacub, CFC Cavite Area Head, delivered the orientation for the activity, reminding everyone that the event is a retreat—not a conference. He encouraged everyone to reflect, grow closer to God, and to fully embrace our calling to work with the poor.

The retreat sessions were facilitated by members of the CFC Cavite Provincial Area Governance Team. Session 1, “The Church of the Poor,” was delivered by CFC Cavite Area Director, Bro. Tony Racelis. Session 2, “Caring for the Person in Need,” was given by Bro. Barry Rayos, Head of the Mission Support Group. Session 3, “Sharing for the Common Good,” was presented by ANCOP Head, Bro. Jimmy Nazaire. Finally, Session 4, “A Future Full of Hope,” was shared by Mission with the Poor Head, Bro. Molong Nivado.

On top of the sessions given, there was an immersion done by the different sectors, such as visiting the sick, feeding the street children, and others. The activities gave insights and learning to the participants, making them more “on fire” to serve the Lord by serving the less fortunate brethren though ANCOP, Mission Amare Programs, and through their own capacities as Christians, by truly living out the call to be “one in the One”.

Truly, the recently concluded MPWR of CFC Cavite has greatly placed the community in another step towards Building the Church of the Poor!
