CFC MILESTONES | 1991

CFC adopted its vision statement, a statement that would have far-reaching implications and effects on its future: Families in the Holy Spirit Renewing the Face of the Earth. By this time, the growing challenges and multifaceted work neccessitated the services of fulltime workers–11 served in pastoral roles and 1 in administration.
CFC MILESTONES | 1992

Beginning in June 1992, the top leaders of CFC—many of whom were also part of LNP—gradually stepped away from LNP to devote themselves more fully to their life and service in Couples for Christ. By August 1992, the CFC Mission Core was formally established. Notably, even in the early years of the decade, CFC leadership had already begun proposing that Couples for Christ be recognized as a distinct and separate community.
CFC MILESTONES | 1993

Couples for Christ and Ligaya ng Panginoon agreed to part ways with LNP relinquishing its rights to the name Couples for Christ, together will all its assets and liabilities. Following the separation, a new entity was incorporated: Couples for Christ Global Missions Foundations, Inc (CFCGMFI). At the eve of CFC’s 12th anniversary celebration, the Family Ministries were launched: Kids for Christ (KFC), Youth for Christ (YFC), Singles for Christ (SFC), and Handmaids of the Lord (HOLD). YFC held their first ever Youth Camp in Bataan. The first CLP of SFC was held in Mandaluyong. This was the response for CFC to holistic and to fulfill the vision spoken in 1991–Families in the Holy Spirit Renewing the Face of the Earth.
CFC MILESTONES | 1994

1994 was the start of the explosive growth of CFC. When the Vatican declared 1994 as the Year of the Family, CFC saw this as a clear sign to strengthen and expand its Family Ministries. During this time, CFC hired its first single full-time pastoral worker to serve in the Singles for Christ (SFC) program. This soon became a path for many young single men and women to leave their secular jobs and commit themselves to full-time service in the Family Ministries.
CFC MILESTONES | 1995

With the separation of CFC from Ligaya ng Panginoon, CFC’s now ready to pursue a global, holistic, and Catholic thrust. CFC’s decision to align itself with the Catholic Church resulted in its adoption of advocacies, primarily pro-life issues. The community articulated its core values: Pro-God, Pro-Family, Pro-Poor, Pro-Life. It was also the year that marked CFC’s humble beginnings in its mission to serve the poor.
Stay tuned each as we continue to share our story—our history, growth, and God’s faithfulness—as we journey toward our 45th year as one family.
