Hernan is a retiree from an aluminum company and worked there for 33 years. He, along with his wife Marivic, decided to serve the community as full time and the owner of Pies Basket, the family’s pastry business. But when he was fixing something at the ceiling, he fell badly from the ladder and his head was severely hit. This caused his paralysis for years and at present. With this huge challenge, he witnessed various encounters with the Lord, and Mother Mary amidst his doubts in saying yes with the calling of God to continue their mission in Couples for Christ in United Arab Emirates.

Princess is born blind because of undeveloped eyes and was the first with that case in Camarines Norte. Her mother, who was active in serving the Lord, died when she was 20 years old due to complications of Diabetes. She is also the first graduate of Camarines Norte, Bachelor of Science in Education Major in Special Education Degree, which is totally blind and first visually impaired to pass the Licensure Examination for Teachers in Bicol Region. She became a scholar of ANCOP when she was in 2nd year college. Now, she teaches her students one-by-one through making them touch the things she is teaching. She currently has 10 students, 2 per day.

Raffy is a Technical Staff under the Sultanate of Oman. He was supposed to work in KSA, but was assigned to Oman instead and continued working there. He moved at Oman in 1987 and had a profitable automotive shop in 1995 through the help of a sponsor. Encountered hardships such as being in prison by false accusation, and his old garage went on fire due to a negligence of his apprentice. He also encountered temptations and oppressions that tested his character, faith for his family and his faith in God.

Tito was a bad boy back then, he would often go to church only to date different women. He was very strict and is a disciplinarian but after they joined Couples for Christ He became softer. His wife, Nikki, had a hard time during her pregnancies because her blood pressure shoots up. Their second baby died because of this condition, while their third baby was born prematurely, which was a big challenge to the couple financially before. Tito was originally assigned with drugs but he resigned due to corrupt practices done by the management he was in.

Jonas is originally from Los Banos Laguna, but due to call for his past work, he decided to transfer to Zamboanga and live there for good. Currently, they have a photocopy and tarpaulin business in their nearby plaza. Their old home was bombarded His family experienced miracles of survival of the following catastrophes: 1. RL is the second and only son in the family and a typical teenager who has dreams and is very active in his school and service to the CFC Community, along with his whole family. Everything fell apart when a huge fire happened in their apartment, causing death of his parents and youngest sister. He questioned God’s ability to heal and to why this tragedy happened to them. Making Vlogs (Video blogs) and continuing his school and service to the Lord is currently his outlet. He currently stays with his guardian, Sherwin and Sheila, along with his elder sister, Bambi.

They had interest in organic farming which started in a machine shop and a land inherited from Grace’s parents. The advocacy of Agripreneurship started as trial and error and only a private family business in 2010, but in 2013, with the family’s great perseverance and power of prayer, they chose to open it in public. With God’s grace, the business grew, and many people became interested in this advocacy. Mon was diagnosed with hypertensive diabetes and was recently admitted to hospital due to stroke. He learned that prayer is the best weapon for every struggle and the community helped him much on his prayer time.

Story of Ireneo’s mountain life in Surigao and their current living in Leyte. He raised his family through his fruits and vegetables selling and how the community helped them amidst the challenge of poverty. Tito started to sell fruits since 1998, while Flora chose to stay at home as housewife. Their second son, Samuel, died when he was two months old due to convulsion, and their eldest, Joseph, had an operation at his appendix. And for their youngest, Jude, Flora had difficulty in her pregnancy since she had myoma.

Tito is a well-known musician and songwriter- he wrote the famous songs “Till My Heartaches End” and “Someone’s Always Saying Goodbye”. His good friend, Vehnee Saturno, paved him the way to compose songs, where it bounded for Tito to leave his career as a mechanical engineer. As he gets his prime and expertise as musician, his story of humility and service to the Lord takes place. This happened through joining Couples for Christ.

Cesar is a freelance research and agricultural trainer for plant nursery and volunteer radio anchor at DXRP in Davao. His family had simple life until God gave them 4 wonderful children, where all the boys have autism and the only daughter, Vesta, is normal and is currently working in a bank teller. His wife, Ellen, passed away due to breast cancer. This story circulates on how Cesar managed to be the single father on all his children while continuously serving the Lord.

Story of a couple who did not have their own children but dedicated their lives in taking care of 72 ANCOP scholars. Angie did not have a child by choice. They chose to devote their lives in the service of their family, as they are both eldest and are breadwinners, and of the scholars and their families. They consider joining Couples for Christ, in 1992, as the saving grace of their marriage and the turning point of their life, especially Angie, who learned how to submit to her husband.

Joe joined the Couples for Christ community in 1986. He decided to join through a cousin and a friend, whom he had seen a huge transformation when he had joined in the Couples for Christ ministry. He is known for promoting SOCIAL RENEWAL mindset and believes that spiritual nourishment helps build and strengthen marriage, family, and society. He shares his story of great leadership, humility and how he touched many people’s lives through the Couples for Christ community.

For the last episode of Pluma Season 2, we feature the CFC Social Development Programs. The CFC SOCDEV is CFC’s corporate responses to the call for evangelization in various sectors of society. Formerly called as CFC Social Ministries, it was established in 1995 which aims CFC members, partners and volunteers work for Total Christian Liberation.
